Health and safety are essential parts of our daily operations. Our goal is to involve both management and employees in safety development, training and implementation, and to resolve health and safety problems through prevention.

The objective of the Mark Sand & Gravel Co. safety program is to eliminate workplace accidents/injuries, to comply with federal, state, MSHA, OSHA rules and regulations, to reduce worker’s compensation costs, and to inform employees of potential hazards and safety rules and regulations.

- Pre-employment and quarterly random drug and alcohol testing
for all DOT drivers - Regular review of employee and applicant driving records
- Pre-trip inspections of trucks completed daily by all drivers
- Preventative maintenance program for all trucks and equipment;
monitored by our in-house maintenance team - Annual company training to review health and safety topics
- Regular jobsite safety inspections
